Problem

Consumers report low trust in the trades industry due to a lack of predictability, limited transparency, and the presence of many unprofessional actors.

Solution

A new way to book trades services that gives consumers predictability, confidence in quality, and fixed pricing.

Results

After one month on the market, YOB scored 6 out of 6 in customer satisfaction and achieved an NPS of 83 among customers who had tested the service.

Where we started

Petter Solum, a plumber and contractor, approached us with an idea to challenge the plumbing industry. From the inside, he had seen how the industry resisted change and how consumer needs were not being met.

The goal and Skalar’s assignment

Skalar assembled a cross-disciplinary team spanning business development, technology, and design. We contributed to shaping the concept and then building the first version of the app, which launched in Trondheim in autumn 2025.

Goal: A service that gives consumers control over what they order by allowing them to choose the timing and agree on a fixed price upfront.
